Found treasure!

Before I start I wanted to show you that most my seeds are now seedlings! I was so excited. I knew radishes grew fast, but didn’t expect it THIS fast! My peas have also sprouted too!

So if I calculated right (which I probably did not), I will have fresh radishes in about 17 days. How exciting!!

Now back to today’s post. I have found quite a few things while living in The Apartments. I have come across a brand new 4 foot cat tree that someone didn’t want. I have also come across a wrought iron bacon press which is super cool, and now I have found this older and dingy mirror.

I unscrewed all the backing and removed the mirror (that will be another project), and I had the ugly and dirty gold frame left.

When I say dirty, I mean REALLY dirty!

I took a toothbrush and warm water to clean it up and then used some leftover white spray paint from a project that my dad was doing to put 3 coats on the frame (Dad did coat three while I was at work).

The next day I had Dad cut a piece of scrap fiber board (used for hall closet doors) to fit where the mirror once was. Next was the chalkboard paint (purchased at Walmart). I got the first coat done and Dad did the second and third while I was at The Apartments.

Now I just need to let dry for 24 hours and condition it before I put it together and let LO have a go at it. Stay tuned for the results!!

Thanks, I’m excited to finally put it together!

  1. That’s a really cool idea. I’m going to keep an eye out at the next few yard sales I hit.
