OH’s sister is getting married in November. OH and I aren’t married but I will call her my sister-in-law anyways (SIL #3). Unfortunately I couldn’t attend her bridal shower as it was on Thanksgiving Sunday and my side of the family was getting together for our annual delicious meal and the kids that are all away for university were coming to be with all of us. This was also a very important Thanksgiving as my grandparents are getting less mobile as the years go by and I don’t get to see them as much as I would like to.
Anyways, I arranged to see OH’s sister on the Friday evening of Thanksgiving weekend and bring a few gifts for her. After thinking it through, I asked my good friend Sarah who works with flowers to make a beautiful bouquet in a vase. Then I scoured the internet to find another add-on to the gift. That’s when I came across The Ultimate Bridesmaid. There I found this idea to add bottle tags for the occasions of marriage bliss.
I printed the tags to be off at my parents’, went to the LCBO for wine and went home and got my craft supplies out. I only used 4 of the tags as I felt like the others didn’t quite match what I was thinking.
I cut the 4 tags I chose out and matched them to appropriate wine bottles. Wedding Night – Sparkling Wine, First Anniversary – Merlot, Just Because – Riesling-Gewurztraminer, First Dinner Party- Pinot Noir.
I then glued the tags to card stock and cut them out with a border. Using my 1 1/2″ circle cutter, I punched out the holes for each tag.
After that, I folded each top and placed them on their appropriate bottles.
Mrs. to be enjoyed receiving the gifts and now she has different wines to try out for different special occasions. Mr. to be will be able to enjoy into this gift as well!
