make your own lip balm

So today OH, LO and I leave for Toronto once again. 5 baseball games in 5 days. That’s a lot of baseball but it makes OH so happy to see so many games and I enjoy them too although I am getting all baseballed out. I am ready for HOCKEY!!

Anyways, my mom and my BFF are taking care of our goofball of a cat (Stevie Y), and my lovely dog Kaiya, so I decided to make them a little lip balm to say thanks!

I got pure Beeswax and I had a sample of live clean non-petroleum jelly.

I put 1 tbsp of beeswax into a microwaveable dish and nuked it for about 30 seconds. Then I stirred in about a 1/2 tbsp of non-petroleum jelly to smooth it into a sticky paste that smells awesome. Here you can add a scent but I kept it simple.

I then filled tiny bead containers I found at the dollar store with the mixture and wiped them down with a baby wipe.

The next part was the extra fun part! I have been taking card making classes and after washing my hands thoroughly I got to work on the lids. This was the final result in what I made.

I packed them in little boxes that I made and matched them to a homemade card.

Voilà! A small gift that was fun to make!
