fast post friday – let’s make soap!

So I bought this kit and decided to make some easy peasy soaps. They are great for small add-on gifts. Plus it was easier to buy the kit than to buy each ingredient singly.

So you get this little set up.

You can see I already started before remembering that I needed to take a picture.

So I just followed the instructions included in the package.

Step one – separate the heating tray and place measuring cup into tray.

Step two and three- separate one soap cube and put into measuring cup.

Step 4 – place measuring cup with tray into microwave on a microwaveable plate. Microwave for 10 seconds.

Step 5 – add colour slowly and carefully while stirring until colour is reached. (The lids are a bitch to get off the colour containers!)

Step 6 – add 5 to 8 drops of scent. I added tropical sunset fragrance to these ones!

Step 7 – pour half the mixture into one of two choice moulds and then the other half into the other choice mould.

One cube makes two soaps.

Let sit for 15 to 20 minutes and pop them out. I made 8 little soaps! (The kit makes 16)

I ended up packing 4 of them in a little gift box that I made. I also made a card as today it’s my sister in-law’s birthday!

On one last note, the cooler days are upon some of us. I have started knitting and doing other crafty things and surprisingly have Most of my Christmas shopping done.

Here is one of the newest things I have knitted.

That’s LO modeling the little pumpkin hat I knitted for her.
