$38.00 well spent!

I am all about stretching my dollars in some areas so I can enjoy other areas of my life! So how far can you stretch your grocery budget without eating too much junk?

This is what I scored for the week at two different stores. I spent just under $38 and it looks a little like this.

Notice how much food I actually got! This is what is in the mix.

  • 1 can country biscuits – $2.50
  • 1 can primo diced tomatoes -$1.25
  • 1 can clover leaf flavoured tuna – Free with coupon
  • 1 can Ocean’s flaked tuna – $0.98
  • 1 pouch Bravo pasta sauce – $0.93
  • 1 box Barilla pasta – $0.24
  • 1 can Heinz beans – $0.73
  • 1 dozen large eggs -$2.58
  • 1L 2% milk – $2.88
  • 1 small jar of mayonnaise – $1.19
  • 2 tomatoes -$0.88
  • 6 bananas – $1.53
  • 2 lb bag of oranges – $2.73
  • 1.75L orange juice – $2.00
  • 1 bag french fries -$1.00
  • 0.5 kg of chicken – $3.72
  • Honey garlic pork sausages – $4.00
  • Breakfast sausages -$4.00
  • Maple & brown sugar oatmeal – $1.88
  • Chocolate Almond Milk – $1.00
  • Fresh garlic – $0.40
  • 1 loaf of bread – $0.73

This will last OH and I until next Wednesday. We do have some carry over food from the previous week and some of this stuff will carry over to the next week. So what can you get for around $40.00?
